A Winter's Goodbye

I write this post as the bad blogger I have been lately: that kind of blogger who took pictures of an outfit a few months ago and kept those photos on a forgotten album on her computer and never looked at them until those same photos finally saw the light of day and I decided to publish them. The same blogger who waited until Winter is almost over to share pictures of when it was pretty cold and, as such, I write to you as the blogger who hopes that this post will serve as a Winter's goodbye!

Escrevo-vos este post enquanto péssima blogger que tenho sido ultimamente: aquele tipo de blogger que tirou fotos a um outfit há uns bons meses atrás e que guardou as fotografias num albúm esquecido no seu computador e nunca mais pegou nelas até que finalmente essas mesmas fotos viram a luz do dia e eu as decidi publicar. Essa mesma blogger que esperou até ao Inverno estar quase no fim para partilhar imagens de quanto estava bem frio e, como tal, escrevo-vos como essa blogger que espera que este post sirva como um dizer adeus ao Inverno!

I don't know how Winter was in the part of the globe from which you read this, but here in France (more specifically in the Paris region) it was cold. Okay, maybe not as cold as I was waiting for (I swear that I was psychologically ready for a huge thermal shock such as -20 °C), since it seems that the weather decided to give me first year's benefit, and although some days it was REALLY cold and I basically did not quit my doudounes, truth is that I also did not walk properly buried in snow, so I conclude that it was not as bad as I thought it would.

Não sei como se passou este Inverno na parte do globo a partir da qual me lêem, mas aqui em França (mais especificamente na região parisiense) esteve frio. Okay, talvez não tanto frio quanto estava à espera (juro que psicologicamente me estava a preparar para um choque térmico enorme a chegar aí aos -20ºC), já que parece que o tempo decidiu me dar uma benece de primeiro ano por aqui e, apesar de terem existido dias em que esteve MUITO frio e em que eu basicamente não larguei as minhas doudounes, a verdade é que também não andei propriamente soterrada em neve, por isso concluo que não foi tão mau assim quanto pensava. 

As you may have noticed, I haven't really had the opportunity to publish outfits here on the blog, but when looking at this, I would say that is quite illustrative of how I spent my Winter because the boots, coat, bag and scarf were some of the pieces I used the most (and yes, I speak of these specifically, how original on my part!). Moreover, I take advantage of being lazy about what to wear for work since I have a uniform and, apart from that, I discovered the wonder that is to use sous-vêtements (ie clothing for underwear, something I did not know!) or that there are things like hand and feet warmer or even insoles covered in wool! But enough about Winter, can we move to Spring right away?

Como já devem ter reparado, não tenho tido muito a oportunidade de publicar outfits aqui no blog, mas, ao olhar para este, diria que é bem ilustrativo de como passei o meu Inverno, visto que as botas, casaco, mala e cachecol foram das peças que mais usei (e sim, falo destes especificamente, quanta originalidade da minha parte!). De resto, usufruo da vantagem de poder ser preguiçosa em relação ao que visto no trabalho já que tenho farda e, aparte isso, descobri a maravilha que é usar sous-vêtements (isto é roupa por baixo de roupa, algo que não conhecia!) ou que existem coisas como aquece-mãos e pés ou mesmo palmilhas revestidas a lã! Mas chega de falar de Inverno, podemos passar à Primavera assim já, já?
